PhD-project title: Analysis of Antarctic Radiation Observations in the Face of Global Climate Changes

The first part is to develop and establish a quality management system for the World Radiation Monitoring Center (WRMC), the data center of the Baseline Surface Radiation Network (BSRN). This development includes the definition of quality criteria and the implementation into the existent WRMC software packages.

In the following it is planned to analyse data from polar BSRN stations in respect of climatic changes and its influences on the surface radiation field. Particularly the long-wave fluxes seem promising in addressing questions regarding the differences in warming trends between the Arctic and the Antarctic.
